Fans of Finn Harps keeping a close watch on developments at Portman Road in the build-up to the friendly fixture between the clubs this Tuesday, July 7 will be delighted to note that Roy Keane's first major signing of the summer is an Irish international. Damien Delaney joins from Queen's Park Rangers for a fee quoted in the media as around £700k and will be looking to nail down the left back slot for the Tractor Boys and force his way back in Giovanni Trappatoni's plans.
Speaking to the Ipswich Town official website he expressed his delight at the move and his satisfaction on linking up with such an ambitious club and manager.

Corkman Delaney joins an already strong Irish contingent at the East Anglian club with Alex Bruce, Owen Garvan, Shane Supple, David Norris, Jonathan Walters and Alan Quinn already in residence at Ipswich. While it’s unclear yet whether Delaney will be in a position to make the trip to Finn Park the rest of the club’s Irish brigade will all feature against the Harps.

Finn Harps play Ipswich at 7.45pm on Tuesday and tickets are available from MM Store, Killybegs; Parkside Service Station, Drumkeen; McGee's Service Station, Falcarragh; Victor's Gift Shop; Letterkenny; The Sports Shop, Strabane; Melody Maker, Donegal Town and Finn Park.
