Failte Ireland North West has hosted a highly successful tourism promotion and networking event in the Hague, the Netherlands in conjunction with Tourism Ireland. The event which was held in the World Forum Theatre, The Hague presented an excellent opportunity for members of the Irish tourism trade to meet with a key group of tour operators, agents and travel media from all over Holland to showcase the highlights and new products from the North West. It was attended by Failte Ireland North West
Máire Aine Gardiner, Donegal Regional Tourism Development Officer of Failte Ireland North West said: “This was an ideal opportunity for our Donegal trade to develop closer links with Dutch operators and promote their tourism products directly to the Dutch market. In today’s competitive market place face to face interaction with these decision makers are crucial if we are to influence future business to Donegal and the North West”.
The recently launched Rotterdam – Donegal charter in association with VLM and Buro Britain is proving very popular in bringing Dutch visitors into the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht to experience our rich culture and excellent hospitality. The improved access into North West from the Netherlands and this high profile industry networking event are expected to raise awareness of Ireland as an attractive tourist destination among the Dutch and provide a significant boost to visitor numbers and tour groups coming from the Netherlands to Ireland this season.
