After twice headlining at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, a Dublin guitarist whose parents hail from Gaoth Dobhair is playing a series of acoustic concerts in Ireland before embarking on a tour of the UK.
Eoghan Gallagher has also joined forces with John Idan of the Yardbirds, Montreaux Jazz Festival Deuxieme Prix winner David Satyan and Ian Cape of the London Symphony Orchestra in the innovative band Gloriosa, which will release its debut album early next year.

The Gloriosa album will include a collection of live recordings from Ireland and the UK, combining elements of soul, folk, pop, blues, jazz and classical. The Irish Post has said that the band's sound "resembles the eclectic sound of the Buena Vista Social Club."

Eoghan's upcoming Irish dates are expected to be acoustic sets in smaller venues, to test out new material and to promote the Gloriosa project. After his Irish gigs, Eoghan will travel to the UK for a series of live shows and residencies.

Gloriosa was initially set up in 2002 with Tahlia Marvin, the daughter of Hank of The Shadows, and Conor Donovan, who played percussion on Damien Rice's 'O'. They enjoyed a sell-out launch at the National Concert Hall in Dublin in 2005, with Richard Boughton of Bell X1 and the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra on piano.
