A Raphoe family endured a terrifying ordeal last Thursday night when at least three masked men, one of whom was believed to be armed, raided their home.
A garda spokesman revealed the raiders entered the house belonging to Michael Laird at Guesthouse End Street around 10.30pm last Thursday night and demanded cash. There were two people in the house at the time. After getting several hundred euro the raiders made off but gardaí say they are not aware of what direction or their mode of transport. No descriptions of the raiders are available either. They have appealed to anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time to contact them at Raphoe Garda Station (074) 91 45114 with any unusual observations no matter how small.
